ONC and REACHnet Collaborate on Electronically Exchanged FHIR® Based Patient Consent Pilot
The Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) is collaborating with the Research Action for Health Network (REACHnet) team to develop and test a standardized solution to enable the electronic exchange of patient consent for research. The pilot, Standardizing Consent for REACHnet’s Pediatric Research Registry (HiOH Kids) will test research on the exchange of patient consent based on the use cases developed by The Patient Choice Technical Project Phase 2: Basic Choice for Research Consent. AUGUST 25: Public Comments Deadline: Trusted Exchange Framework and Common Agreement

There are two days left for you to submit comments on the trusted exchange framework and common agreement provisions in Section 4003 of the 21st Century Cures Act. Please specify considerations, concerns, and success stories for the exchange of health data across networks. If you wish to submit a letter or attachment ONLY, please send them to exchangeframework@hhs.gov.
Deadline: The public comment period will end on Friday, August 25, 2017 at 11:59pm ET.

SEPTEMBER 6: Workforce Training Webinar
ONC is hosting an informational webinar featuring workforce training awardees in September. The event will showcase the free workforce training modules available for health IT professionals and educators. These modules, used by more than 9,000 individuals who recently completed the programs, cover a variety of topics including population health, care coordination & interoperable health IT systems, value-based care, patient-centered care, healthcare data analytics.
