The new draft 2017 Interoperability Standards Advisory (ISA) are available for public comment. The ISA is a coordinated catalog of standards and implementation specifications that are available for use by the health information technology (health IT) industry to meet interoperability needs. The deadline for Move Health Data Forward Challenge is quickly approaching. The challenge encourages participants to create an API solution to allow people to securely authorize the movement of their health data to destinations they choose. Applications for the challenge are due on September 8th. Check out the discussion board to see answers to frequently asked questions.
Earlier this month, the article “Sharing Data Across Sectors for Better Complex Care” featured ONC’sCommunity Health Peer Learning (CHP) Program, in addition to Data Across Sectors for Health (DASH), and it’s network “All In: Data for Community Health.” The feature discussed how these organizations are working to improve the way communities work together to address social determinants of health through the use of data. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) will host two webinars in August that highlight how to participate successfully in the EHR Incentive Programs in 2016 based on the criteria outlined in the October 2015 final rule. The first webinar will discuss criteria for eligible professionals (EPs) and the second will highlight requirements for eligible hospitals and critical access hospitals (CAHs).
