Stop Underage Drinking: Portal of Federal Resources

Stop Underage Drinking: Portal of Federal Resources

New Report Reviews Federal and State Underage Drinking Prevention Programs
The Report to Congress on the Prevention and Reduction of Underage Drinking includes a comprehensive review of state policies and programs that can serve as an invaluable resource for coalitions, state agencies, researchers, and the general public. The report:
  • Provides an overview of underage drinking prevention.
  • Summarizes the research on underage drinking prevalence and problems, and describes Federal programs addressing the issue.
  • Analyzes 23 state underage drinking policies (e.g., keg registration and hosting underage drinking party laws).
  • Summarizes responses from a survey of all 50 states and the District of Columbia regarding their prevention programs, efforts to enforce underage drinking laws, interagency collaborations, and state expenditures on underage drinking prevention.
The data for each state are collected in a State Report, which is the most comprehensive and readily accessible summary of state underage drinking prevention activities available. Each State Report and Policy Summary are easily retrievable using dropdown menus on the website.
